Our Top Five Canine Toys To Keep Them Occupied And Happy!

We all have times when it isn’t possible or appropriate to walk our dogs as much as they need or are accustomed to. At the time of writing, this applies to most of the country!

Here are some recommendations for great toys to keep them happy and mentally tired.

It is also worth having a look at the following books, which have lots more ideas!

1) Trixie Snake: Great for filling with treats or dry dog food, with a little bit of peanut butter (get the stuff without salt, sugar or xylitol), primula cheese or wet dog food.

2) Classic Kong: Different sizes and toughness levels are also available. You can fill a Kong with many different things. How To Stuff A Kong

3) Lickimat: As the name suggests, great for dogs who prefer licking to chewing, we also have one that can be stuck to the side of the shower or bath for reluctant bathers! You can use softer wet food or various pastes or spreads with this.

4) Treat Dispensing Maze This one takes a bit longer to fill, and can only be used with dry food or treats, but our dogs love it and different sizes are available, even cat size! It is a bit noisier than some too, so not for during conference calls!

5) Hol-Ee Roller a great ball to play tug with, as well as hide things inside, whether smaller treats wrapped in bits of old t-shirts or tea towels, or larger chews to make them last longer. You can also tie plaited material to it, to make a better tug toy; or make your own snuffle ball, the same way you would do a snuffle mat.

Remember to supervise your dog with all but the Kong, and have fun!
